The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) / German Academic Exchange Service is a private, publicly funded, self governing organization of higher education institutions in Germany. DAAD promotes international academic relations and cooperation by offering mobility programs primarily for students and faculty, but also for administrators and others in the higher education realm.

January of each year
Monthly scholarship of EUR 150 for undergraduates, EUR 250 for MA-students and graduates and EUR 500 for PhD students. Host companies will contribute an additional stipend of EUR 500 net per month. Lump sum of EUR 800 for travel expenses and EUR 150 travel reimbursement for travel to the scholarship meeting. Health insurance and accident and personal/private liability insurance.
Canada, United States
Enrolled in a Masters or PhD program at a North American university (at the time of the internship) in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science or Engineering (or a closely related field)
OR
Undergraduate RISE Alumni or former DAAD scholarship holder in a relevant field studying at a North American university (at the time of the internship)
OR
Recently graduated student from a United States or Canadian university/college and hold US American or Canadian citizenship.
