Mexico Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE): Foreign Government Awards Program – Mexico
The Canada-Mexico awards are based on reciprocal agreements between the Government of Canada and the Government of Mexico. Under this agreement, Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Scholarship Program for Foreigners provides a minimum of 15 awards to Canadian citizens wishing to pursue studies or research in Mexico and includes the possibility of preliminary language training.

October of each year
Round trip, economy class airfare ticket for the scholarship recipient only, by the most direct and economical route between Canada and Mexico; transportation within Mexico (the mode of transportation will depend on the distance); tuition and registration fees for the academic program as established by each institution; tuition fees and accommodation for a language course (where eligible) for up to six months or for half the length of the award; monthly living allowance of: MXN 7,479.60 pesos for graduate mobility scholarships and studies and research at the Master’s level OR MXN 9,349.50 pesos for research at the Ph.D. and Postdoctoral level and for medical specializations and sub-specializations; health insurance from the Mexican Social Security Institute starting after three months.
