Where will you go this summer?

How about traveling with us to Kenya and Uganda, to join the innovators transforming the region? Or to Scandinavia, to learn about how cities like Copenhagen are being designed to meet the needs of the future? Or to South India, to study the captivating intersection between western and traditional medicine?

We've spent the past months dreaming up the most incredible workshops we could, and we are so excited to share them with you. For Summer 2014, we will offer six fantastic opportunities to engage the world:

Informal Innovators: Kenya and Uganda – Who Are the Innovators of Emerging East Africa?

East Africa is on the move. Innovators in Uganda and Kenya are transforming their economies. We will join their momentum, visiting entrepreneurs working in sustainable development, technology, the informal sector, tourism and conservation, to learn what it takes for innovation to take hold. Smarter Cities: Scandinavia – How Do we Design Cities for the 21st Century?

From climate change to congestion, today's cities face a growing list of challenges. How can new technologies create smarter cities capable of meeting our changing lifestyles? Starting in Copenhagen, we will explore Scandinavia's most innovative cities and develop ways to share their successes with the world.Learn more.

A Generation of Entrepreneurs: Vietnam – How Can Vietnam Leverage its Youth as a Competitive Resource?

Vietnam's population is incredibly young, motivated, and increasingly creative. The country seeks to promote innovation to become a global leader. We will work with schools, youth groups, and entrepreneurship organizations to understand how Vietnam is catalyzing its youth to lead the country.Learn more.

Healthcare for Everyone: South India – How Does India Balance Traditional and Western Medicine?

South India has made cutting-edge cardiology affordable, and led vaccination campaigns on an unheard of scale. Non-western medicine, including Ayurveda and homeopathy, maintains widespread popularity. We will investigate how different systems of healing serve the needs of rich and poor alike. Learn more.

European Expansion: Croatia & Slovenia – What is the Future of the European Union?

Europe continues to struggle with high unemployment and insurmountable debt. That hasn't stopped the EU from expanding: Croatia joined the EU in July 2013. What is in store for Croatia now? We will learn about the EU transition process by visiting the EU's newest member-state as well as its neighbor, Slovenia, which completed the process a decade ago. Learn more.

Politics of Participation: Morocco – When Change Comes to Morocco What Will it Look Like?

Morocco is both a seat of traditional Islamic culture and a dynamic economy. This workshop will examine Moroccan identity and views of the sweeping regional changes in the Arab world through three lenses: art & media, youth culture, and technology & innovation. Learn more.
