Youth International: Gap Semesters in Asia and South America

Established in 1997, Youth International is a leading program provider in international experiential learning. Programs are offered in Asia (Nepal, India, and Thailand) and South America (Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador), with start dates in September and February. Backpack with a small group of peers and two leaders for three months, exploring the culture through a wide variety of activities: volunteer work, home stays with local families, trekking, and adventure travel. Academic Subjects
The main focus of Youth International is on learning. The majority of learning will come directly from the experiences of day-to-day travel. All team members also engage in individual and group reflection, reading, culture and language workshops, and attend some talks from guest lecturers. Optional college credit is available through an affiliation with Western State Colorado University.
Application process and requirements
Online applications are available on the Youth International website. Once an application is received, Youth International will normally be in contact within one week to schedule a telephone interview.
