Call for volunteers for MEDASSET's sea turtle Project in Lefkada island, Greece

MEDASSET is seeking nature-loving volunteers to participate in a sea turtle nesting survey on the island of Lefkada, western Greece, in July 2012. Volunteers are needed to conduct daily surveys on the beaches of the island and identify sea turtle nests for a period of two weeks. Complete training on nest identification and additional education on sea turtles will be provided to all volunteers. Our team will be based at a local camping site, and volunteers will have the opportunity to visit sites of environmental and cultural importance in the area. Application process and requirements

If you are interested in the kind of volunteer work we offer, please provide MEDASSET's Environmental Education & Volunteers' Coordinator, Mrs. Konstantina Kostoula, with a full CV and two email contacts for professional or academic references at medasset@medasset.gr. Once your application is received and accepted, we will write back to you with instructions on how to arrange your travel to the project site and how to send the participation fee to MEDASSET. Your placement will be confirmed after payment is complete. Any bank or transfer charges incurred from your bank are not included in the participation cost. So please consult with your bank and add these to your payment amount.

A moderately good physical condition is required for participation on our sea turtle nesting surveys. Survey teams will walk up to five miles each morning at a steady pace but with intermediate breaks to drive between beaches.Punctuality and a positive team work spirit are necessary ingredients for an enjoyable experience for all.
