crees volunteer programme: Conservation Research and Sustainable Development in the Amazon
We are looking for volunteers to help with conservation research and sustainable community development projects in the Manu Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Peruvian Amazon which is a biodiversity hotspot but also an area of extreme poverty. Example volunteer projects include working with families to build organic bio-gardens in order to raise income and reduce malnutrition in local communities, or teaming with university researchers to study endangered species such as the Blue-headed Macaw. The volunteer programme runs from 4 to 12 weeks and starts at $2,099 which includes extensive training, local transport, food and accommodation at our sustainably-designed rainforest lodge and research facility, the Manu Learning Centre. One and two week voluntourism packages are also available for short-term volunteers. Please visit www.crees-volunteer.org for more information or to apply.
