Frontiers Foundation: Operation Beaver
Our volunteers work in schools and communities in the north of Canada to assist in the areas of education and recreation. On our education projects the volunteers work in the community schools assisting in any way that they are needed. This often involves working with special needs students, tutoring students who need extra assistance, and working with students in specialized areas such as computer instruction, counselling, and physical education.
On our recreation projects the volunteers work with the community leaders to provide activities for at-risk youth. This involves putting on a supervising a wide range of activities designed to give the youth safe and positive ways to use their time and energy.

Frontiers Foundation
Frontiers Foundation brings volunteers from around the world to work in small, isolated, First Nations, communities on a variety of community development projects. Most of these projects are in the areas of education or recreation. On our education projects our volunteers work in the schools as tutors and teaching assistants. The work often involves working with special needs students, students who need one on one attention to improve their grades, and helping to provide expertise in certain areas such as computer instruction, counselling, and physical education.
On our recreation projects our volunteers work with the community leaders to provide extra social and recreational opportunities for at-risk youth in the community. They do so by putting on a supervising a wide range of programmes to give the youth a positive way to spend their time and energy.

If you wish to apply please email Don Irving at frontwest@shaw.ca to request further information. We are looking for outgoing and energetic people with a strong and genuine desire to get involved in a community and make a positive impact. The communities in which we work suffer from extreme social problems and we need volunteers that are willing and able to deal with these problems on a daily basis and overcome these obstacles.
English
As the project involves working in schools any volunteer must be fluent in English.
