Commonwealth Games Canada- International Development through Sport: CSLC International Internship Program

The mission of the IDS unit of Commonwealth Games Canada is to work in partnership to build leadership skills in, and enhance the capacity of, individuals, communities and nations, using the convening and transformative power of sport. IDS currently works in the Southern African and Caribbean regions, but the scope of the IDS mission extends to Canadian professionals, ages 19-30, who are passionate about sport, physical activity and International Development! For this purpose, the IDS unit has created the Canadian Sport Leadership Corps (CSLC) International Internship Programme. Since 2001, more than 60 Canadians have undertaken 8-month CSLC international placements with National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, National Sport Councils, Government Ministries, National Sports Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, community-based organizations and educational institutions in Africa and the Caribbean. Canadians recruited for the CSLC programme work with IDS

Though the organization accepts applications year-round, applicants are advised to apply at the call for applications. This will allow applicants to view the job descriptions corresponding to each internship, and tailor your resume accordingly. It will also help the selection committee to determine where the applicant's skills and experience would best be utilized.
Funding information
The financial package is designed so that individuals do not have to rely on personal financial resources to participate in the experience. Recruits for the internship program will be asked to operate in the most cost-efficient manner.
