KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Field Coordinators
- -Managing day-to-day functions and trip leaders to ensure smooth operations during trips.
- -Making the hard decisions and understanding the importance of being the disciplinarian.
- -Helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all passengers on trip.
- -Providing support to Trip Leaders on a professional and personal level.
- -Executing planned events and excursions with other coordinators.
Volunteer In addition to field coordinator responsibilities...
- -Hyping the Volunteer Experience to travelers on destination, getting them to sign up and ensuring they attend their excursion.
- -Facilitating pre- and post-excursion conversations with travelers to assist them processing their experience.
- -Working with staff in head office as well as in-country partners to ensure that the Volunteer Experience meets our quality standards and exceeds traveler expectations.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- -Minimum 1 year experience in a youth leadership role (Camp Director, Residence Advisor, President of club/greek life).
- -Completed or pursuing a college diploma or university degree in any of the following areas or equivalent: International Development, Environmental Studies, Political Science, Non-profit management
- -Comfortable working long hours and evening shifts to provide trip leaders and passengers with a constant point of contact during their trip.
- -Organized, hardworking, able to work in a team environment.
- -Experience traveling in the developing world is an asset, preferably on a volunteer trip.
- -Experience working/volunteering for, or representing, a non-profit organization is an asset
- -Fluency in Spanish is an advantage.
- -Valid Passport
QUICK FACTS
- Role: part time, contract per trip
- Growth: after mastering this role, you become a program director
TRIP SEASON
The Volunteer Experience is only included on our S-Trip! Programs that run over March Break and Summer. Each trip is between one week to three weeks in length. Priority will be given to applicants who are available for both trips. Check out the dates we'll need you for below:
