From the Syrian refugee crisis, to April’s earthquake in Nepal, over the past year, the world has witnessed countless humanitarian crises and natural disasters—all of which require the support of frontline aid workers. At this year’s Boston Go Global Expo, keynote speaker Peter Orr from Médecins San Frontières will bring to the life the realities of delivering humanitarian aid in some of today’s most urgent situations—and how expo visitors can take their next steps toward a career in international development and humanitarian assistance.
For six years, the Go Global Expo has been connecting travellers with meaningful opportunities overseas. Hosted at the Boston Marriott Cambridge on Sunday, September 27, the expo is an exciting chance to learn about working, studying and volunteering abroad. Students, young professionals and adventure-seekers of all ages can find the information and inspiration they need to turn their travel dreams into a reality.
In addition to watching Orr’s keynote address at 11 a.m., visitors can visit the expo hall or attend one of the Expo Seminar Series presentations to speak directly with travel experts, who represent programs in over 50 countries. Exhibitors will include universities and colleges from around the world, exchange programs, international volunteer organizations, student and youth work abroad programs and more.
With free admission, the expo will also feature an inspiring exhibit of some of the year’s best travel photography, selected from submissions to Verge magazine’s annual photo contest.
