Air Chall: Lost: Rachel Walker

Label: Skipinnish Records

Air Chall: Lost is the third album from England’s Rachel Walker, a Gaelic accordionist, pianist, and vocalist. Walker’s crystalline vocals and diverse instrumental talents are showcased across the album, from the English-language pop tune “Home On My Mind” to the ballad-esque stylings of “Fada Bhaum” and “An t-Oighre Og”. Using nearly the entire corpus of basic Gaelic instruments, including accordion, piano, bagpipes, bodhran (an Irish frame drum), fiddle, and various guitars, Air Chall: Lost incorporates some Scottish/Irish folk melodies to achieve a splendid mix of music for those interested in the traditional sounds of the UK.
