The title of this album is a pun, combining the words for “confusions” and “with fusions” —both are a fitting description of these modern-day Brazilian remixes of Angolan pop music from the 60s and 70s. Maurício Pacheco combed through Angolan National Radio archives and collaborated with his fellow DJs to pump up the music of legendary singers like Teta Lando and Wyza, who are largely unknown outside their country today. The scratchy originals lend a haunting golden-age feel to the danceable beats.
